Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells placed over teeth to improve appearance. They correct discoloration, chips, gaps, and misalignment, providing a natural, long-lasting, and beautiful smile with minimal tooth preparation.
Porcelain Veneers
It's about smiling with confidence
Porcelain Veneers are thin layers of synthetic material that cover the front of the teeth and are designed to improve the appearance of your teeth.
Veneers can be made either of porcelain (ceramic) or composite resin (of plastic and glass). Porcelain veneers tend to look more realistic and last longer than resin veneers, and they are also more expensive. Veneers are a permanent dental treatment, and their color cannot be altered after they’ve been applied.

How do I know what they will look like before I go ahead with treatment?
Thanks to digital technology, we will work with you to create a digital representation of what your dream smile will look like. Once that is decided a mock up set of teeth is made, which we call the ‘trial smile’. These are wearable and you will be able to try them out before any permanent treatments are performed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are dental veneers suitable for me?
Not everyone who wants to enhance their smile needs veneers. Some people may be able to get the smile of their dreams from just whitening and/or a short course of orthodontics, like Invisalign®. Good candidates may be those whose teeth discolour quickly, or there’s chipping and wear on the teeth, other structural damage, or decay. In such cases veneers are often the go-to option.
Are veneers removable/reversible?
Veneers are a permanent treatment that cannot be reversed. Sometimes as part of the process, your teeth may need to be filed down slightly so the veneer can fit in seamlessly.
This is a long term commitment, and once it is done it is permanent.
How long do veneers last?
There are two types of veneers: porcelain veneers and composite veneers. While porcelain veneers are made from porcelain, composite veneers are made from engineered resin. Porcelain veneers last 10 to 15 years, while composite veneers last five to seven years.
Composite veneers are typically less expensive than porcelain veneers initially, but because porcelain veneers last longer, they are often more cost-effective in the long run. We recommend porcelain veneers.
How much of the tooth needs to be removed?
This all depends on the integrity of the tooth you’re putting a veneer on. Some cases require no reduction in the original tooth structure. However if there is decay or other major issues, some amounts of tooth will have to be removed.
How many veneers do I get?
The number of veneers you get can range depending on your needs. Some people just need four at the front of their mouth, while others might need a full set of 28.
It depends on your desired smile and the goals you and your dentist agree on for the outcome of your treatment. Veneers can be fitted to top and bottom teeth. After detailed consultation there should be no surprises when your new smile is fitted.
How strong are veneers?
You can expect your veneers to be just as strong as regular, healthy teeth. Often veneers are stronger than your existing teeth, however veneers aren’t indestructible.
Just as with natural teeth, you should not use your teeth as tools. You should avoid opening bottles with your teeth or cracking ice cubes or nuts.
How much do veneers typically cost?
Veneers are an investment and each case is different.
Will they make my teeth look bulky?
At Refrom dental, we are very experienced with digital smile design and veneers. With advanced technology there should be no reason for your new smile to look bulky.
Can veneers fall out?
Veneers do not generally fall out, however as with natural teeth they can chip and be damaged.
What is the upkeep of veneers like?
You care for veneers just like regular teeth.
Brushing, flossing, regular cleanings, all of that is crucial to maintaining the health of the veneers. It is also very important to have healthy gums for overall health.
